    I bought this player (Philips DVD-714) from Circuit City on last december, I tried the Palm hack on Philips Syndicate and Philips hacks here with a Clié, but it doesnt work, the neotek software works perfectly but the .pdb doesnt change the lcd to the dashes.

    I can't find information on web about this model even on Circuit city, not a review, not a hack, no nothing, I only found the models 711, 712 and 718 but there is nothing about 714, anyone has an idea about this???

    The Philips syndicate site is the place for Philips info - http://www.ianc.net/philips/downloads.shtml.

    Philips did get a Toshiba player and simply rebadged it. I have a feeling that this could be the one that is giving you trouble. Japanese based players usually can only be hacked by a hardware upgrade. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings
