I use my DVD writer to rip my movies because there's only 2 slots on my computer the DVD writer and CD writer. My DVD writer read dvds 6x and it take me about 35-40 to rip a DVD. How much fast is a 12x or a 16x DVD-rom drive. I was thinking about getting a spearte dvd-rom drive just to rip dvds because this way it takes forever.

AND1, what dvd writer do you have? i have a pioneer 104 and it can only rip at x2.1! does anyone know a way to speed it up? otherwise i think it would be better to rip with just a normal dvd-rom drive!
