    I just got a new JVC XV-S300BK DVD player and it will not play SVCD's. The directions say it is supposed to play them. I'm fairly new to this stuf. Can anyone give me some advise?

    i bought a jvc dvd player too but it didnt work so well with svcd but the weird thing is my sister bought one too, but about 4 or 5 months ago and it works ok. you can try to burn your cds on a better quality disc...like fujifilm, dont use memorex...you can also try to burn in a slower speed instead of the highest one.
