COMPUTERS CAN....WHY CANT YOU PUT A LITTLE PROGRAM AT THE BEGINNING OF THE AVI FILE SO THE DVD PLAYER WILL WORK?

dvd players only play vob files !!! that is what ther set for or mpeg-1 white book format vcd's

DVD players have no conventional OS or processor, so running a program won't work.
However, some DVD players, such as APEX 500, WILL play a raw AVI. -
Because AVI is just a termwhich is applied to hundreds of completely
different file formats, each with various audio, frame size, bitrate and
other options.
Too many options = too difficult for manufacturers V's cost the consumer
is prepared to pay.
