  1. for the video to fit into 750 or 800 mb cds. When I record about 2 hours long video, will it break into 2 or 3 sequences that way each one can fit into one cd. I have ati aiw and is there a program for it to do it?

    Let me know.

    Thanks, Bob

  2. your aiw software that came with the card has a timer feature on it. when you set up the software to record, there is an option to set the time that it will record for. That is the solution if you intend on stopping the video at the X mark and then restarting the process to "tape" onto the next CD.

As far as an automatic solution, I use powervcrII 3.0. It has two features that work well (1 feature will answer your basic needs and the second one will answer your question when you come back to the forum wanting something that doesn't cause the start of CD 2,3,etc. to be jumpy/miss a few seconds).

    1. powervcrII has something built in that chunks a video real time into 650/700mg pieces.

    2. you can tweek the registry to have the software not do this and then use its handy file splitter to chunk the video (almost real time) into the 35 min (SVCD) pieces that it needs to burn to 1 CD.

As a bonus answer, you can check out the tools to the left and it has free tools for splitting files, OR you can purchase powervcrII for only around $10.00 on ebay (do a search and type in "powervcr"). There is a guy (I bought mine through him) that sells them for around $10.00 on ebay. From what I have, it looks to be the original CD.
