  1. I capture home made video (Digital Video Camera) to my computer in DV / AVI format. After editting the AVI file is encoded to MPEG-2 format to make my own CVD.
How can I obtain the same audio level through the whole movie?
I don't like the fact that I have to change the volume of the TV or PC depending on the area the video is created (outdoor / normal conversation / loud party / etc...).
    Thanks for any (good) suggestion.

You need to normalize your audio. There are numerous programs which can do this with a wav file, just do a web search. Also whatever mpeg encoder you use will probably have a normalize function as well.

    afternoon easyrider,

If you're using older versions of TMPG, ie, through 12j i think, you can give it's
    version of "normalize" a go:
    * settings/advanced/ and at very bottom is an [ ] Audio box waiting to be plucked.

set to normalize, and of course, wait for it to normalize the whole video, and
that's about it. I've done this to a few videos in the past, but I'm not
a normalize freak, so I long gave up on it. But, give it a try, if you have
those older versions of TMPG, and b4u ask, no, it's not in ver 2.53 or higher

    good luck anyways.

No I'm pretty sure all versions of TMPGenc have a normalize function. In later versions look in the audio tab under the "audio edit" setting. Its definitely there.

    adam,

Thanks for bringing (correcting me) that to my attention!!

I see this was movied from the Advanced tab, on over to the
Audio tab, ...at least in ver 2.53, which is the one I using right this
    very minute.

  6. thanks for the advise. I will try with TMPGenc. Is it also possible to create more video's (from separate AVI's) with the same sound level? Or is this option of normalizing sound only within one AVI file?
