    Load AVI into Vdub, Move slider to end of movie to find number of frames. Divide by 2 to get half way mark.
    Click Edit > Beginning

    1, click black arrow at the bottom (Mark in) "Start of movie"
    2, move slider to center of movie (or use goto frame) , click the key frame icon (Back once)
    3, click black arrow at bottom (Mark Out)
    4, First half of the movie is now highlighted
    5, select video > streaming
    6, select audio > streaming
    7, save as "part1.avi"
    8, move slider to center of movie (Your are already there), click the key frame icon (forward once)
    9, click black arrow at bottom (Mark in)
    10, move to end of move, click the key frame icon (back once)
    11, click black arrow at the bottom (Mark Out)
    4, Second half of the movie is now highlighted
    11, save as "part2.avi"

    Or

    Convert the whole movie in TMPGEnc, then use merge/cut to cut mpeg in half
