    Hi,

    When using Smartripper I get the error message that there is no ASPI access to my dvd-rom drive and that the program cannot unlock the drive.
    I have windows XP pro and a Toshiba SD M1212 6x/32x dvd-rom. I am also using 4.71 aspi using the link from vcd help.

    Do I need different software, or do I need to do upgrade the firmware for my dvd-rom??

    1st play the movie for a little bit using your software DVD
    player & this should unlock the disc ready for smartripper.

    As for ASPI, you should install forceASPI drivers (see tools section)
    as the Adaptec release is bug city.
