hey, this may be a silly question but ill shoot for it anyway. well as soon as i got into dvd burning, i jumped right into the big, complicated stuff (4.3G+, DVDSP, FCP, etc.). i was just wondering, what can the other, more simpler programs do? like imovie and idvd, sorry i have never even experimented with them. im just curious, what types of format will they accept and what types of authoring can u do? if someone could fill me in on the capabilities of these two progs that would be great. thanks guys!![]()

i haven't tried idvd but imovie IMO is only good for capturing from your dv cam.

ok thanks for that info, but does anyone know anything more about idvd? is it true that u can import 90 mins. of almost any video format (mpeg, avi, mov) and burn it to a dvd-r? and, probably little or nothing, but what can you do for parts of the process of backing up commercial dvds? i already know the more complicated processes, but i wanna learn more about this idvd program, eventhough im pretty sure it cant do the heavy stuff. if someone could give some details for idvd that would be great. i wanna know its capabilities. i may be able to do things i need to do more simply in idvd!
