  1. And I was doing so well. after a week of trial and error , burning samples and trying again to get the video looking right on the TV screen and having enough room on the dics. I Finally convert my firt movie from AVI into a VCD (Men IN Black)! So I try the next one (SPIDERMAN) It goes good for about 1 minute and then I loose ALL sound! So then I try SHREK and I don't even get a little sound in the beginngin! I got back to MIB for a baseline test and it ecoded great again.
Now all these were AVIs and I understand that there are different versions of AVIs. I downloaded and installed the Nimo CODEC Pack but that didn't help. The AVI files themselves are playing fine. Is the something I'm missing in the conversion?

  2. Have you tried extracting the audio from the avi, using virtualdub, to an uncompressed wav file. Then use this as the audio input to Tmpgenc and encode. This solves a lot (but not all) of the Audio problems like this that people have with TmpGenc and encoding in general.

If you need info on how to do this, look to the guides on this site or search the forums, there is lots of info there to be found.

    Good luck
