  1. I have my video encoded and my audio encoded but I don't know of any editors that will interleave mp3 audio with DivX video.

  2. This can be done with virtualdub. I cant remember the exact details right now and I am not in front of my home computer so I cant work it out. But play around some and you should be able to figure it out.

If stuck PM or e-mail me for details which I can provide when I have time.

Perhaps when you find out you can post the method here. I've tried all permutations to get an avi and an mp3 to interleave using Vdub, but got absolutely nowhere. I can interleave an avi and mp3 if I'm starting with a wav and compressing to mp3 using full-processing mode, but if I have the mp3 I can't do it!

  4. banjazzer, you may well be right. I was thinking of wav files when I posted that, I know virtualdub can interleave wav and video. I guess I just assumed it could do it with mp3's too!

Oh well, you live and learn

Nandub, (a hacked version of virtualdub) available on Doom9.org muxes an .mp3 just like a a riff wav is done in virtualdub without the riff header.
Open your video file, set video to direct stream copy and under audio select vbr - mp3 audio, choose your mp3 file and save.

CDEX, a freeware lame based encoder will encode mp3 and mp2 with riff headers and wav extensions so you can just mux with VirtualDub.

Thanks. This worked. The reason why I wanted to be able to do this was because I could extract the AC3 audio from a certain DVD, but the wav file was over 2GB, and caused mega problems. I figured I could convert the AC3 to mp3 directly and then mux the audio and video. 8)
