  1. Hello, I have looked and looked at the diferent forums to try and find an answer or at least a starting point for my problem. I have a VCD which will play fine on my computer, but will not play on my DVD. The DVD is an APEX AD-1200. I purschused this model because of reading in the forum that it will usually play just about anything. The VCD was a gift from an individual in England. He only plays it on his PC. He burned the dosc using Nero. Could it be I need to do something different to get it to play in the DVD? I did convert the DAT file in the MPG folder to a MPG. I tried it both ways as a DAT and as a MPG. No change. It did seem that after I converted the DAT file the Player took longer to reject and give the error message Bad Disc. I hopt this post is not to long but figured giving as much info as possible might help. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

A VCD should have the movie on it as a dat file ....so converting the dat to a mpg wont help..... If you live in the US your DVD player probly plays VCDs in NTSC format...and in Europe (and England) they use PAL or SECAM.... I think thats where your problem may lie....
TMPG will encode the pal mpg to a ntsc mpg. If you use that in nero or another program to burn to a VCD then it will probly play.
