    I gave my stepson my old Win95 pc, which had DVD on it but now it's not working, sounds like a software problem, not the drive.
    Because its an old unit we can't find the backup discs for it, and all the CDROMs with setup programs (WinDVD etc) I can find seem to be proprietory only, and will not run on the wrong machine.
    I don't really want to blow the OS away in any case.
    Can anyone suggest a free download that actually WORKS, and not a 5 minute or 30 day trial-er?
