i am using "dvd2svcd" with cinema craft encoder and ripping dvds ...the quality is pretty good ...but it is a little blocky at times and pauses and cuts out here or there...i was reading some of the posts .will the blockiness improve if i change the vbr multipass? right now it is set at the default of 4 ....if not what could i do to improve that?

anyone know the answer?
I have blockiness with CCE also on fast scenes, with nearly everything setting I've tried. you may have to use TMPG CQ mode. -
VBR is optimal around 3 or 4 passes though I'm wary to give advice on how to fix blockiness.

Soften block noise in TMPG, or Anti Noise Filter in CCE
Test with different values.
