I am trying to make a slideshow VCD with VCDEasy. I created all of the MPEG stills and am using the interactivity function to make a menu. I am making one slideshow with sound (actually it is a mpeg movie that I created with the pictures using windows movie maker), one slide show that using the mpeg stills that advances every 5 seconds, and one slideshow that the user advances (the pictures are set on infinite). I have a MPEG that I made a menu screen out of. I have burned it using VCDEasy and Nero and at slow speeds. It works fine except when playing the MPEG still slide shows. They start off fine but after about 25 images both of the shows skip to the last image and stop, they skipp over almost 200 pictures. I don't know what causes this, I have tried many different settings. I have played long slideshows made with Nero and they work fine. Thanks for your time.

  2. Is it not playing properly on your stand alone DVD player or your PC DVD Player? If it doesn't work on a PC DVD player either (such as WinDVD or PowerDVD), that would indicate an authoring problem. The only thing to do is interrogate the xml or the interactivity page and see where the problem is. I would install something called Daemon Tools (see the Tools section). This allows you to play a cue/bin without burning it on a CD. This a great troubleshooting tool and a good way to avoid wasting CDs.

I tried it on a standalone player and that is when I first experienced the problem. So I tried it on WinDVD and I have the same problem. I also looked at the XML file and it appears fine. Could it be the MPEG still that causes the problem?

Make sure your stills are in the segment area and not the sequence area. Sequence area only allows for X number of tracks (I think it's 99, but I'm not sure). Check VCDImager docs for details.
