Went up on a newsgroup and D/L'ed 2 .avi files that make up 1 movie.
Used TMPGEnc and converted them both to .mpg files. Used Nero to make a VCD as the help page states. I think that I did everything correctly but now I'm not sure as neither of them play in my DVD player.
It's a Toshiba CD-3109 and your files show that it works only spottedly at best so I have no complaint there. However neither of the VCD's work in either of my computers players (DVD-ROM, CD-RW).
I can take a look at what was written by using the open and I see that I wrote 5 Dir's as follows: CDI:4 files, EXT:3 files, MPEGAV:1 file, SEGMENT:0 files, and VCD:4 files.
In the past (maybe a year or so ago) I remember putting a cartoon on disk and it worked. Same player, different writer, most likely different R or RW media. So grainey it was either erased or thrown out.
Within the last month I did make a VCD disk on RW media and I was able to put on quie a few pictures that were taken with a digital camera.
Again the RW media was probally different but the player and writer were the same as today. Only complaint was some tearing of the picture which did not happen at the same place each time it was inserted.
Am I missing a menu or something. Maybe one of the sysops can give me a hint.........TIA.........BC
