  1. I captured my home video using MGI Videowave 4 and the mpeg file produced has the following: Frame rate - 25 fps, Compression - MPEG 1, Audio - 44100 Hz, Stereo, 16 bits.

I used Nero 5.5 and burned a VCD but i cannot play this on a VCD player. Is it because my VCD player does not play CD-R?

  2. You need to tell us what DVD player you are trying it on. There is a list of most players on the market on this site and their VCD compatibility. http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php

Also if you used 25 fps is video in your country PAL?

  3. The player is a VCD player, not a DVD player. It is a JVC and is part of a mini audio system.

Yes, I am in Hong Kong and so the region is a PAL.

  4. Does your player play audio CDs on CD-R? I doubt it would be a media compatibility problem with a stand-alone VCD player.

It potentially could be a problem with Nero. Have you tried any other VCD authoring programs? Have you ever created a VCD that worked?

    Regards.
