Macrovision is a kind of protection that disables the direct copy of the DVD to VCR/VHS.
"Macrovision free" means that you can connect your DVD directly to VCR and copy to VHS all the DVDs protected by Macrovision (and, of course, all the DVDs unprotected).Sorry about my bad english... -
Jumping to macrovision and vhs tapes... There seems to be two types of macrovision. One causes distorted picture at the top during a capture or even a preview. The other copy protection, when capturing with a pc, causes the frame to repeat, like an old skipping vinal record, only the frame is stuck and repeating. The sound continues on as normal. The "Stinky's Macrovision Patch" for the ATI video capture cards will work in removing the copy protection that causes the frame repeat problem. But tapes with the other copy protection, distorted top half picture, cant be removed with the Stinky patch. I tried a Sima Video CopyMaster, and that would not remove the distorted frame copy protection. We need another patch!
