    Does anybody know what the maximum bitrate that the SVCD template can handle and still be considers within the SVCD specs, without making a XSVCD

    go to thier site, download the documentation... THere is a grid in there showing what bitrates they support for svcd (as well as vcd and dvd, and remarkably, they will let you make some outof spec vcds as well )
