  1. Is it possible to take a DD soundtrack ripped off a DVD and convert it to DTS and can you convert the mp3 audio from a Divx DVD rip back to DD.

    Thankyou

  2. well ... you could use sonic foundrey's "soft encode" to split the DD into 6 waves then use Surcode DTS to re-encode into DTS ... but i dont know of any apps that will let you use DTS on mpeg , vcd , svcd , or even DVD ... if your lucky you got a sound card that will output a direct PCM to a decoder.

as for the mp3 ... once it's in mp3 format it's kind of irrverasable ... ya you could use winamp to get it to a stereo wav ( never as good as the orginal ) ... then you would need to get a mixer to "create" 6 channels out of it ( cut out under 100hz for lfe .. then make somthing for the 2 rear .. use a mono mix for center ) .. then use sonics program to create the DD ... of course sending that through your home audio system may cauze it to catch fire just to spite you for putting such a bad track therough it.

Roxio VideoPack 5.0 apparently accepts DTS files if they are muxed with your .m2v stream into a single .mpg file. This begs the question, though: what program out there will successfully mux an .m2v file and a .dts file together? I'm not aware of one.

Where'd you get your .dts file from? Did you encode it yourself?
