  1. Has anybody managed to disable macrovision on the newer machine model 750 pacific. You could do on old one but code does not work with newer model.
I thought somebody might have cracked it by know.

Not so far as I can see. Considering the latest batch of Pacifics have the ability to play VCD disabled, I think Macro disabling is a distinct longshot. 8)

  3. I have a Pacific 750. When you say " You could do on old one but code does not work with newer model ". do you mean that the 750 has a new version or are you refering to a different Pacific model ? I only ask cause mine has the macro disabled and it plays vcd with no problem. The code is................
open the tray, on the remote press 4561 and a menu with macro on/off will be displayed, enter to select then close the tray. While we are on the subject of the 750 does anyone else have problems playing svcd ?

I've got a 750 which is all-region and has macro disabled. About 2 months ago, 750s were being sold which would not allow the macro hack. The latest batch of 750s have had the ability to play VCD removed! Go take a look at your nearest ASDA. The Pacific has a notice next to it now saying it won't play VCD. This is true, as some people who have bought them recently have found out! 8)

I find it plays some SVCD OK, but quite a lot will play with a noticeable hesitation. It's not good for SVCD IMO.

  5. Thanks. Ive been out of the loop for a while and missed the news on the change to 750's but found out last night when i scanned the forums, my Asda has no notice saying this, i'll have to recheck on that. Guess for once i was in the right place at the right time 1 last question which bugs me a little. When i play some DVD's the 750 can pause for a few seconds every so often, not all the time. I know it says it will on the dvd label due to dual layers but when i ask friends if theirs does [other brands]they say no. Do all 750's pause like this at times ?

I don't use mine for playing DVDs, so I can't help with that. 8) However, I'd make a note of the disc and position when it happens, and try playing it on your friend's player. It may well happen, but some people just don't notice this kind of thing!
