You rip every VOB or just what you thought the main movie was??
Cause I usally only rip the main movie VOB's (usally 5 or more vobs totaling anywhere from 3 to 9.?? gb....Now if you just rip what ever Smart ripper sugests it's not always the movie files.
Most Software DVD players can play vobs from your hard drive..Make sure you got the right ones....As I have never had a problem using Smartripper>DVD2AVI>Tmpg.

Make sure you ripped the movie as an "angle" rather than the individual VOB files.

T2 Ultimate Edition has multiple angles within the same VOB.

On the left hand side of SmartRipper there is a an option to select the "Rip Method". Make sure "Movie" is selected rather than "File" or "Backup"

I think from memory, SmartRipper will default the target to the longest angle on the DVD... this is usually the movie. Click Start and perform the DVD2AVI operation on the new VOBs.

  7. Ok i opened smart ripper and selected program chain 3 ,angle 1 as this is the film with all the extra scenes in.Then i reripped the vob files and checked them all with power dvd and it is definitly the unedited verson of T2 which is the one i want to rip. Then when it comes to dvd to avi it ethier just gives the 24min file or if i watch it to see what its doing it just freezes about half way through. There is nothng wrong with the vob files as i checked them all and they extracted fine and play fine.So is there any thing else i can use in place of dvd2avi ,or is the dvd protected in some way this is the region 1 us dvd that comes in a tin cover

  8. Hi there.

This may or may not be true but I heard on the grape vine that the master press of T2 had an error in it that most DVD players get round but when it comes to ripping programs like smartripper it doesnt. Seems to mess up around the layer change.

I myself have tried backing up my copy and had NO luck with ANY software......

    good luck!
