  1. I am trying to make a VCD in CCE. I am using a DVD source and I am frameserving with avisynth. The source movie is 4:3 aspect.

Now for the problem, when I encode the movie there are black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The black bars souldn't be there, why is it doing that? My avisynth script is as follows:

    LoadPlugin("C:\MPEG2DEC.dll")
    mpeg2source("C:\Movie.d2v")
    BicubicResize(352,240)
I have also tried BicubicResize(352,480) and set half vertical res. in CCE and same results.

I don't see why the black bars are there. Can someone help me out?

You say the movie is 4:3 but does it play back fullscreen with no bars? If there are bars when playing the DVD then they are encoded in the original. When are the bars showing up? If its in your software player, you might need to look for a toggle in the player to "Keep Aspect Ratio" or something of that nature. Also make sure you have selected your output in CCE to be 4:3. There is nothing in your script that would cause this to happen.

  3. I found out what it was. There was nothing wrong with it, I made a sample movie and copied it to a disc and it played full screen in my DVD player. Maybe I sould have tried that first but thanks anyways.
