  1. Can someone PLEASE tell my about s-video. My DVD player has one and my video card has one, so why and how do I use it and what for????
    Both are s-video OUT. I have no s-video IN's on any piece of equiptment at all in my home.

    Short for Super-Video, a technology for transmitting video signals over a cable by dividing the video information into two separate signals: one for color (chrominance), and the other for brightness (luminance). When sent to a television, this produces sharper images than composite video , where the video information is transmitted as a single signal over one wire. This is because televisions are designed to display separate Luminance (Y) and Chrominance (C) signals. (The terms Y/C video and S-Video are the same.)

    It stands for "super video"
    The picture quality is a lot better than composite
    A lot of Tv has s-video "in", I hope yours has one,try it out and you'll see the difference
    And also most capture card has an "s-video in"

  4. Your DVD player has S-Video out so that you can plug it into a TV with S-Video in.

    Your video card has S-Video out so that you can do the same thing...
