    I'm only interested in making dvd movies downloaded from the net. My question is, should i download Divx version of a movie and encode it or download the svcd version and encode it? Basically, which of these sources have better quality? Obviously, svcd files are much bigger but if their quality is better, i wouldn't mind...

    Actually if its a good copy to begin with anything will work i prefere downloading avi or mpeg as they are more friendly formats so to speak.
    This is proboly a ice cream induced thought so i can not take no control for the above statment. :P
