I tried copying a DVD to VCD. I used DVDx and the second part had faulty lip synch. I tried again using Smart Ripper and TMPGEnc and the second part still had lip synch problems. Is it the DVD or me? I have copied two others and they were fine, using either method.

After Smart rip ..Do u frame serve the files using DVD2AVI before using TPMG? I do and never have seen this problem there.
I've only had this problem when I encode someone elses DivX movie to MPEG1 for VCD...Sometimes the DivX audio does not go through the uncompression recompression without losing sync...I have found that if I rip the AVi audio off with VirtDub as a uncompressed wav ...then use that as the audio source and orig avi as video source for TPMG during encoding...the sync always lines up. -
Yes I was using DVD2AVI. The virtdub sounds interesting. I don't know it. Where can I get it and could you give me a few ideas? I only started doing this last Sat!!
