When I am D/l stuff on lime wire, I have come across .dmg files that claim to be a Mac os X install. Does any one know if these are legit? I've been meaning to upgrade to OS X beacuse i've heared video editing is much easier and more efficent.........

I didn't answer the post because I don't know the answer, but I'm an OS 9 kinda guy. And yes .dmg is OS X, but I've seen some OS 9 software under that extention as well.

Hi!
FinalCutPro3 on X is great (and expensive).
.dmg is a Disk Image (like such ones created by DiskCopy under OS9)
And sometime just drop the dmg to DiskCopy and it will be mounted (maybe) (if not, correct the type/creator)
Ciao, ALeX.
