I converted a Divx to a SVCD then tried to burn to a CD with NERO, everything went fine, no errors then when I tried it in my DVD player I got disk error, so I put it back on the computer and checked the files under the mpg file I saw "no combination of filters could be found to rendor the stream" when I burned it as a VCD it worked great in my stan alone DVD, I just want to try it in SVCD. Can some one help please?

Ok lets start with this when you made the svcd did you re-encode the original divx file to svcd or did you just try to burn the vcd as a svcd.
The other problem may be is that your playr may not be able to play svcd.
Hope this helps

I encoded the file in TMPGEnc as a SVCD then burned in NEWRO and I got the error, I just checked the specs on my DVD player and it says that it does support VCD, but it did not say anything about SVCD, what does that mean?

You had to have done something wrong when encoding or burning.

Oh, Man, I want so much to remember EXACTLY what I did since there is someone willing to help, but I have a reputation as having a BAD memory. But I will try. First I downloaded the movie in EDONKEY, then I encoded it using the VCD guide on this site (divx to mpeg or VCD) remember Im a newbie, anyhow, that worked great and I burned it to CD and watched it on my DVD player. the trouble is, I'm spoiled, with a 55" screen and sattelite, I tried to encode it as a SVCD, thats when I got the error "no combination of filters could be found to rendor stream" as I said, my specs say that my DVD player supports VCd, I will check this site as you suggested, any other help you can give would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like the file was vcd quality and not svcd quality
Probably something around 1150 kbs
