  1. I followed the guide for How to burn VCD with VCDeasy. I followed the instructions to the letter. When it got ready to burn, I got an error message stating that the disc in the burner must be blank. I know I'm a newbie, but I'm not completely stupid. But just to be sure, I put in another blank disc. I got the same message. So I downloaded Fireburner and followed the instructions for burning from a .bin/.cue to the T. It froze on me. So I downloaded Nero. I followed the how to guide for burning from Nero. It completed on the PC successfully, or so it said. I took the cd and put it in both of my DVD players, and yes, they do support VCDs. No dice. Both said insert disc, as if there was nothing on it. I put the disc back in the computer and it had the Nero files on it just like they look in the guide, but there was no MPEG file.

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

    I have a p3 500
    running 98se
HP burner using Imation and Verbatim CD-Rs.

  2. Just because they do support VCD's doesn't mean it will accept the media is burned to.

Check the list here to see if the player(s) have to use a specific medai (ie cdrw instead of noraml cdr's or Silvers Cdr's or Gold cdr's etc etc)

  3. I used a CD-RW and it worked, but the picture quality sucked. It looked worse than a bad VCR dub. What can I do to make the quality better?

    Thanks.

well, this is a pretty openended/vague question, and it is an entirely different issue than the original question. quality depends on a lot of different factors. first, and maybe most importantly, is your source...crap in=crap out. if your source is not really good, you have little hope of getting a good final product. if your source is good, and your product is not, then you should have a look through the guides here, and read the forums, and you should be able to find something that will help you. since you didn't provide any information as to the source, and your method and specs for conversion, there's no way that anyone could give you more than a shot in the dark guess as to how to improve the quality. here's my shot: your bitrate is too low. just a guess...like I said, we would need more info...
