I read this problem in the forum but none of the posts helped.
I am trying (Oh so hard) to rip and create a VCD from a DVD I followed the instructions given for Five hours now. but when I come to TMPGEnc it will not take the d2v file says it is unsupported.
I have downloaded and run the plugin I have tried turning off the Direct Show Multimedia in Environmental settings.
I have had a beer (To calm my nerves) I have writen this post in the hope that someone can help I am going to bed.

HI!! ive had the same problem
i think the reason why this happens is that u dont have the d2v file and the vobs stored in the same folder....hmm....know what ive been doing? i frameserve only the section of the movie im gonna put into tmpge....avoids any problems...a little more work....but it works....i have an external hard drive that i store the vobs on....very slow...thats the reason i dont store everything in the same location...hope this helps....get some sleep! LOL ....int

I'll be having a beer also. Been on this for couple of hours and I can't figure it out. I have the vobs in the right directory but it still won't take the d2v file. I had no problems with tmpgenc 2.53.
I hope I can find the old one to re-load.Love makes the world go round -
Thanks for your concern, yes I had. After several scotches now have solved the problem. When I looked into the environmental screen under the VFAPI tab, I noticed that it was not reading the DVD2AVI.vfp file so the project file reader was not working. When I ran the mouse pointer over the line entry a comment popped and said it was looking for it in a different directory to where it actually was. I may have changed the directory where I first loaded DVD2AVI. Trouble was I could not change the setting even by re-loading software etc. Only by doing a search on the drive to remone ALL Tmpeng files (there was a config and several under windows\prefetch etc) and then re-loading (ensuring that DVD2AVI was installed first) did it change the directory TMpgenc was pointing to.......Now I can go to bed at last.
