    Hi,

    As an example, a data CD (as formated for burning) can hold 650 MB officially. However most can actually hold more data... if your burner supports overburning (and your software, but this is common).

    So overburning is writing more data to a CD than the "official" standard supports.

    This isn't the same thing as different formats (Data CD, VCD, SVCD, etc) allowing different amounts of data.
