  1. Didn't know where else to post this but I figure it sort of falls into the realms of authoring/conversion so here goes..

I bought a Creative Videoblaster Digital VCR recently and up til now I'm very pleased with it, it gives an excellent mpeg2 video output from its built in mpeg2 chip (A lot better than the bt8x8 chips) and barely takes up any CPU power at all, even when capping at 640x480 (I also read in the muxwrite.ax file that there's an option to cap at 730x480 but that's another story)

The only problem with it is the audio, the software only allows 32Khz capture and I know the hardware can easily process 48Khz, I've poked round the .ax muxer and the .dll files but I'm no programer and can't for the life of me figure out how to edit/rewrite them to change the audio recordings to 44.1Khz. If it recorded the audio at 44.1Khz the card would be able to capture directly to VCD/SVCD which is ideal.

I tried converting the 32Khz audio to a 44.1Khz stream but I get sound artefacts on playback and defeats the object of having an mpeg2 hardware board.

If somebody could perhaps modify either the muxer, main exe or the dll then this card would be perfect, and it's only $99

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

  2. you can't modify compiled files in that way

sure you can 'patch' them like when you run a crack file which will insert a JMP instruction or something like that but your talking about a much more complex modification

    it can't be done

write to the authors of the software and ask them for that feature
