  1. Was just wondering if the order in which you load your filters in virtualdub make a difference on the quality. For example, if I load resize, MSU Denoiser, and than Smart Deinterlace in that order does it make a difference.

    Yes

    Deinterlace before resizing. Denoiser could matter if you upsize or downsize. If you use the denoiser after downsizing a lot, it would have a lot less pixels to work with so you could go overboard and your picture may not look as good. If you upsize I would use it after resizing. Depending how you order your filters may have an effect on encoding speed also..

    I usually use avisynth and its filters though.

  3. Since I am downsizing I should use denoiser before resize, correct? Is there a tutorial on avisynth anywhere? BTW, thanks for the info.

    http://avisynth.org/mediawiki/Main_Page

    +reference documentation installed with AviSynth;

    AVSP: free script editor with preview/floating prompts/button to call AviSynth docs.

    It depends how much you're downsizing....like for me if I go from dvd resolution of 720x480 and downsize to vcd(352x240) resolution I may just use a denoiser before resizing(but after deinterlacing).

  6. I am going from 720x480 to 680x480 so I guess it really wont make a difference.
