TMPG loads mpeg2 video but not audio???

hey whats up?
i am using the dazzle 2 to capture mpeg2 clips for dvd burning (using dvd template).
if i have to encode with tmpg, it opens the video portion of this mepg file fine but it will not load up the audio at all. I could swear that before i did a reformat i was able to open up mpeg2 files fine. Can anyone help me out? thanks.
it is neccessary that i do not demux and encode this way, the file has to stay together. thanks

u may have to convert ac3 -> wav file.

their not ac3 files, the dazzle create regular mpeg audio in its mpeg2 streams--(although at 48k inmstead of 441)
