New Wintv Pvr250 have better Mpeg Quality than old PVR?

I was wondering if the new Wintv PVR 250 card from hauppauge will have better mpeg producing cabiliities than the original pvr card or if they use virtually the same compression methods. Is it worth waiting to get the new one? Thanks, Rob
