Hello everyone,Please be gentle on me as this is my first post & I'm a newbie to this video-editing/capturing business.
I live in Australia,& am looking to convert & preserve several old VCR tapes,(25-30 mins tv show episodes,cartoon anime),& as I understand it, the Pal standard Mpeg1 for Video-CD is 352x288 resolution for a 74min disc.(on a CD-R 74min disc).
I've seen the following product listed called the Pinnacle Studio VCD

But details & opinions on the 'net about this product are very scant. Has anyone used this card & what are their opinions?

1)In particular, what files does it record in,is it just an mpeg1 card,or can it also render an AVI file?

2)Can this card be used in programs such as VirtualDub &TMPGEnc?

3)Does anyone know what resolutions this card can render in? The only size I've seen mentioned was a 320x240,but as I stated earlier, the PAL Video-CD standard is supposed to be 352x288 Pal 25f.p.s.

Last question,I'm using a Win98(Original,not 2nd Edition),system Celeron 900,with SB-LiveDE5.1 (which would be recording the audio for this capture card),& a 20Gig ATA-100 HD,(with about 16GB spare). Will this be sufficient space to record 25-30mins AVI/Mpeg1 rendered footage to then burn to a standard 700MB CD-R disc?

If the Pinnacle Studio VCD card isn't recommended what other cards (Pinaccle tend to be the most popular brands supplied here in the shops eg:the DC10+,the MP20 etc.(will the MP20 work,as I read it was Win98SE?)
