    Internet Archive has a lot of eBooks that are usually old. Some eBooks can be "Borrowed" which means the reader needs to read the book online.
    Is it possible to download a borrowed eBook and read it offline?

    Yes, it is possible to do. Search a tool for extracting images from browser cache. Then, you have to view all the book pages, extract the images and join them into a document (usually, a pdf file).
