did you try cleaning the disc ?? what program did you use to burn the disc ? try using imgburn.
I have a blu-ray disc that I created using ProShow Producer in 2014, that used to play on my old Samsung blu-ray player just fine. It's a Verbatim non-rewriteable disc.
That player broke so I bought a new Sony player but it won't play on that.
I also tried playing it on a newer used Samsung unit (since Samsung no longer makes blu-ray players) but it wouldn't play on that, and I tried a new Panasonic unit and it won't play on that. I know the disc is good because my computer can play it and I even made a new disc, but still none of these players that you hook up to your tv will play it. I've updated the drivers on the blu-ray players, but still nothing. I created a new disk just in case, but it won't play either.
I'm not looking for a "workaround" of hooking my computer up to the TV. I just want the disc to play on a blu-ray player. Why is it not playing? Is it possible that since my player is USA region only that it won't play it? Again, it was a blank Verbatim disc that I created; there shouldn't be any region stuff on the disc.

I didn't need to clean the disc. Like I said, it was plays fine on my computer and I even burned a new disc which won't play. As stated, the disc was made with ProShow Producer. I could try IMGburn but it was originally burned fromm an ISO file with MSFT which should work and the disc used to play fine on my old blu-ray player. I doubt if IMGburn can make a blu-ray any better than a known working disc but maybe it can do something to make it play in the newer players.

Maybe it shoud be region US, not region free.
I don't think there is such a thing as a blank disc that is US or any other region. I think blank means blank.
there are 2 types of verbatim blu-rays blanks. "htl" and "lth" the "low to high" version doesn't play on all br players. it was a way to use cheap dvd tech to make br blanks.

did you burn the disc as an iso file ? that could definitely cause problems with some stand alone players. but wouldn't be as much of a problem on a computer.
and although it's probably not the source of your problem. don't totally write off cleaning a disc.
different players can handle things differently.
i have player that freezes on a part of movie. and another that handles that section with no problem,
and there has been times cleaning a disc has help with playing or ripping a disc. and times when it hasn't.
i'm sure you've even read of people with the same player. having a problem, or not having a problem with the same retail disc.
so don't totally write off something, that's not that time consuming.
good luck getting the disc to work.![]()
