I have just started using Corel VideoStudio 2023 Ultimate. I am putting together an 'Amdram' play. All seems to be OK with intro titles fading in and out when they should and with the main video.
I am as a separate project trying to a listing of the cast by using a few seconds of the character (in motion) masked in a circle with the character name on a separate title track and the players name on another title track. I have set this up on the three tracks and if I scrub along the project all plays well with the video and the titles coming into view. However, if I then click on 'play' instead of scrubbing, the character is static in his circle (ie no motion on the video) and the title tracks do not show at all. If I then save the project and play it from the save there is the same problem

Apologies for if all sounds complicated but would be grateful for any suggestions

  2. I have this question as well. When the video file first opens, it can be scrubbed. However, once play is clicked, it goes to a static image. There is a setting in Premiere that allows live scrubbing. Is there something similar in Corel VS?

  3. UPDATE: One thing I did do which helped was to remux the video in Handbrake, using the same settings. The resulting video was twice as large, but it scrubbed without an issue. HTH

Handbrake reencodes the video, so probably fixed some underlying issues

Thanks jimbeau and davexnet but using third party software to compensate for the short comings in Corel VideoStudio is not really the answer. I overcame my problem by installing my old copy of Serif VideoPlus X6 on my Windows 11 computer. Although support for this product was discontinued many years ago, it runs just fine and allowed my to achieve my objective with non of the hassle of the Corel programme. The only reason that I bought VideoStudio was that I was told that VideoPlus would not run on Windows 11. Shouldn't believe everything that you read
