Can someone direct me to some good CCE guides for beginners. I have one off of doom9.org but it is extremely complicated for me right now. Is there any other good guides out there. Thanks

What are you attempting to do with cce? CCE is a very fast encoder but it has limitations or I should say more complicated steps to do certain things. If you're looking to use it to backup dvd's to vcd you might try using the cce premiere plugin along with a program called Xmpeg. Xmpeg is a derivative of a program called flask mpeg and works similar but is faster. If you're converting avi files to (s)vcd make sure you're avi's are 352x240 or 352x288 (pal) or 480x480 or 480x576. If they need to be resized you need to resize them with a program like virtual dub. If you're using cce 2.5 or cce 2.62 you can only open an avi that is under 2gig I believe.

well since cce was mentioned specifically i guess that's my cue to flog my wares. my guide may or may not be easier to follow, but that's why i'd like you to have a go at it....so as to modify any points that are unclear. for the ultimate cce guide take a look at death-by-bitrate's article or por2que's updated version. you'll find links to both on my site

CCE 2.62 has no filesize limitation.
It will read anything your file system can store. I recently encoded 39GB of huffYUV video to ~4GB mpeg2 using CCE for DVD.
Works great, looks great. -
does CCE 2.5 have a 4GB file size limit that you know of or do you just know about CCE 2.62? I want to do miniDV 60minute captures on NTFS which would be around 12GB.

well I was encoding 4GB files DV footage from a 60minute dv tape using CCE 2.5 and it worked no problem. Video Vegas split them at 4GB cuz I was using a FAT32 partition. So I think the 2GB limit is just the FAT16 limitation not CCE 2.5.
