    Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know of a way to preview and bookmark sections of video clips, in order to prepare the source material (sections) for use in a project beforehand, without having to do all the scanning & trimming when in the creative phase?

Even better would be if I could drag and drop those bookmarked sections directly into my video editor, already trimmed.

FWIW I'm on windows using Vegas and mostly working with MP4.

    Thanks!

May not be what u want but, FWIW.

I use an ffmpeg based “Extract” util to extract sections from the main video file using Vegas Pro region markers timeline values, rounded to nearest seconds.

I load the main video file into the Extract util also and enter those start/end times in VP into the extract util. I then export the sections based on entered start/end times from the extract util.

My use case is to then combine the smaller pieces together again using ffmpeg concat. So no transcoding involved.

The region markers values can be exported directly from VP using scripting and directly imported into the Extract util, so saving having to enter start/end times by hand into the Extract util.
