I'm wondering if when you burn a SVCD can the picture size be 352 x 240 or does it have to be 480 x 480? :-?

For ntsc yes it has to be 480x480 in order to comply with the svcd standard. Pal is 480x576. However, the CVD standard uses 352x480 and is backward compatible with all svcd hardware players, so even though its not svcd compliant, it might as well be.
You can still encode in mpeg2 and 352x240 you just won't be guaranteed playback on all hardware players. My Apex plays svcds at that resolution fine. -
Thanks for the info...I have the Band Of Brothers episodes, they are all 352 x 240, was just curioius if there would be a change in quality or anything if I uses SVCD instead of VCD.....I'll check it out....Thanks
