  1. Hi,

I recently made a VCd and it played fine on my girlfriend'd Pioneer 515 DVD Player but have just tried a different movie, a SVCD I got from a friend, and it will not read the cd.

The CD-R media can be read by the playe as it is the same makes I used for the VCD (BenQ and Fujifilm) so I do not understand what the problem is.

I also know that the SVCD was burned correctly as it playsback on PC software players.

Does anyone know what the error maybe?

    Thanks for any help.!

It depends where your player was made. I had a UK spec 515 for nearly three years, but just changed it for a 444. One of the reasons behind my decision was for SVCDs. The 515 just wouldn't recognise the disc. You can burn the file as a VCD, but the playback is messed up.
Basically the only variation on VCD that it would accept for some reason, was 48khz audio of any bitrate.

    Hope this helps
