  1. I'm looking for 16:9 pan and scan version of some 21:9 movies from the 90s (Eraser, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Speed, Escape from L.A. and more.)
    Which legal website has it?

Check the titles on the various streaming services but they don't always give the aspect ratio.

Why would you want a mutilated film?

Agree with Bwaak on that one.
    Btw, 2.39:1 is NOT 21:9 (2.333:1).

The OP isn't looking for the cinema version.

It's all in the eye of the beholder.

I thought I'd do an experiment on my TopGun Mav Bluray by making it fullscreen 16:9 by cropping. To my abject horror I found that quite a lot of the movie is already 16:9! Can you believe it! A mixture of fullscreen 16:9 and letterboxed 2.35:1 (or whatever). Oh the humanity!

It is purely a personal preference and I can see where the OP is coming from. It's (mostly) a free world, isn't it? Until the format police come a knockin' or your door...

I just edited TGM into true 16:9 and it comes out great. One would never know it was ultra widescreen. No major details are outside the 16:9 safe zone.
