For basic TV viewing any TV tuner card should work. For more advanced features (Think TiVo) you might want to look at the ATI Radeon All in Wonder or the nVidia Personal Cinima packages. These packages give you the ability to pause live TV, capture for later viewing, video editing, etc. Please note that you will need to use a converter box for viewing the digital cable signals.

To view digital cable you have to run your cable from the cable box then to the pc. Your t.v. card set to channel 3. To view the channel you want go back and use the cable box as your turner. Now if you just hook up thru your cable only then you can use your t.v. card as your tuner. Just remember channels 0-99 are analog they are not digital.
