  1. Hi all. Thanks to the very informative threads on this forum I have been able to get videos from all the sites I want them from (ITV, STV, UKTV etc.)

Everything is working fine and now I'm trying to get the My5 downloads to work (I know they are very poor quality but my partner wants to watch them as she doesn't even notice the poor quality and she doesn't have the my5 app on her TV).

I have my own CDM which works fine and I can download My5 shows and decrypt them, but I need to provide the licence url from the network part of developer tools.
I'm trying to make a script using the other scripts I have and can successfully get the decryption key using WKS-FOLDERS. I can get the first bit of the license from the MPD but can't work out how to automatically get the tag and expire.

https://cassie.channel5.com/api/v2/licences/widevine/208/C5211690001 - I get this bit from the MPD.

https://cassie.channel5.com/api/v2/licences/widevine/208/C5211690001?expiry=xxxxx&tag=xxxxxx - I can't work out how to get the xxxxxxxx

Try as I might, I am unable to work out what the expiry and tag will be automatically.

    Can anyone help? many thanks.

download http-toolkit and you'll be able to either get the license link through a request or at least see how it gets made

The tag is unique code that I cannot find a way to synthesize either.
To do that, I imagine you would need to have python emulate a browser; reading and parsing the html page; loading links; parsing them; running javascript to find hidden links and then pulling the license tag from all that mess. I haven't done that - for me its a bridge too far.
My5 is a pain; if you find a way be sure to write it up!

  4. Thanks for both the replies.

I had looked at HTTP request which was very useful but still couldn't work out how to create the tag and expiry.

Thanks A_n_g_e_l_a. It's good to know that I'm not being a bit daft and that it is very hard to get. I can see how you got ITV to work as the licence is the same for all streams apart from the addition of the contentID. I was hoping that channel 5 was the same sort of thing but alas not.

Have to say, it's great fun working on it though and your threads have been incredibly informative. I get videos for my parents as well as their TV has no smart apps and they just can't get to grips with a firestick - however, they do know how to access files from a USB stick and find that easy so I put videos on USB and refresh it everytime I visit them. They are hard of hearing and need subtitles so I have amended your ITV script to download the subtitles as well and mux them into the resultant MKV file which works really well. Thanks for all the countless hours you must have spent making the Indiana Jones threads - makes it so much easier to understand.

Great! I'm unsure of why my ITV script never fetched subtitles; being of your parents generation, (probably), I need them myself!

On the Chan5 front I think we in the UK are really spoiled by having so much provided by boltdns.net: wiith pssh and license all listed in the mpd. When we come across sites that don't play nicely it is a bit of a shock. For RTE.ie I have to provide a full cURL of the license!

I've just looked at my chan5 script written last October. It really reads as old code to me now but it still works.

Glad the Decryption series helped you; and to yourself and all others who've taken time to say thanks - I'm grateful.
