  1. Hi there, sorry to be ssuch a noobie, but am using TMPGEnc and have been using fine, converting AVI to SVCD, for a few months. Never really played about with it, just know that it works and am happy with the results. This morning went to convert a downloaded AVI and went through the same procedure, only to come up with the message "MPEG-2 Trial has expired". Well I have searched on the site and have downloaded a new set of templates and also an MPEG2 codec, but still gets the error. I am sure it is something simple, but I am unable to figure it out. Help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

There was a post some time (months) back with a registry 'hack' to restart the 30day trial limit. However, the registry entry for version 2.54a is different from previous versions, so the hack won't work.

But then, I'm sure I saw some new registry numbers somewhere else just today!!!

Put this in a textfile, save and rename to whatever.reg and run it and you'll get a new period.

    Miko,

That's it, but they are the old numbers, you will see that for the latest verion of TMPGEnc, the days just keep counting down.
