  3. If you just want to make VCD files, take a look at the ProVideo PV-231 or 233. With a few registry tweaks, this will make great looking vcd captures. These cards cost about $85 to $120 US

For SVCD and DVD, take a look at the ADS instant DVD. It makes poor quality vcd's, but fair looking SVCD's and great looking DVD's. Editing the ADS files is a problem, but there is finally one program I have found that can cut it's files without losing audio sync, so it's also worth looking at. The ADS Instant DVD costs about $200 US.

    What is this program?
I've just returned my ADS Instant DVD to Fry's because of this problem.

  5. It's called NanoPeg from http://www.nanocosmos.de It's the only visual cutting program I have ever found that can cut the files made by the Instant DVD without messing up the audio sync. Unfortunately, it's pretty expensive, at $178.50 US. At least the trial mode gives you the ability to see that it does work. ADS is looking into this product, so perhaps they will make an agreement with nanocosmos. Hauppauge has a free download of a special version of this program for users of WinTV-PVR, so ADS needs to do the same IMHO.
