my flatmate has a mac at work for video editing also with Toast & os 9.2, the dvd writer is a pioneer external, i think A03. i was wondering what programs can we use that me be the same as "smart ripper" for pc to rip these dvd's and make backups?( not for illegal purposes ofcourse)
for ps2 games can you just do straight out back ups with toast. i have a pc but would really like some info on the mac, couldn't find any real usefull info in the guides, it was mainly about making vcd's and things like that, so all help appreciated, thanks in advance.

I posted this on the Smarter Ripper post but anyway.
This is for anyone who wants to make PS2 DVD backup in OSX.
A Mac with DVD burning capabilites is needed (ex. new iMac).
Launch Toast
Insert DVD game in drive
Hit Command - D (copy to HD)
Insert DVDR
Take that toast image and burn it at 1x with Bufferunder run OFF
You're done!
Obviously the back up wont work if your PS2 is not modded to play DVDR's. -
Thanks for that, but did you mean..." it won't work if your system isn't modded for dvd-r"? Say the NEO 4 chip for instance, that plays backed up dvd-r's but still plays normal dvdr's (movies & games)
We have OS 9.2 will this os still work? -
Yeah, I meant if its NOT modded to play dvdr's. :p
It should work in OS9. I have never tried but read that it does work for other users. -
Either buy a mod chip yourself and install it your self (if you know how), or have someone else do it for you.
