  1. I'm upgrading my PC (finally) and for the past 9yrs I've been using a Xeon processor, basically a server CPU the same as a 4th Gen i7, without an integrated graphics processor (IGPU).

I always heard that if you have a video card the IGPU is basically bypassed and not used, but today when researching the i5-13600k learned that some video editing software uses the encoding/decoding engine in the IGPU in addition to you regular GPU.

Does this apply to software like Vidcoder for shrinking video? Adobe Premier? Not used it yet but plan to do some YouTube videos this year for guitar repair.

Was going to save some money on the i5-13600kf, but if the IGPU makes a difference, I'll get it instead.

I use Vegas Pro. The 11th. generation onwards intel iGpu is especially useful as support of 10 bit 422 is enabled. In VP even without the later generations the iGpu is great for decoding when playing the timeline. The same may apply for other NLE's.
